Pampering With Podology

2018, the year of ultimate ‘Self Care’ and getting those trotters out for all to see. I have never really been one to treat myself as such, in terms of my body and all that! I mean I do treat myself in certain ways. A Greggs pizza for breakfast, yes! The odd jar of Nutella on one single pancake, yes! But in terms of really treating myself, treating my actual body, my skin, my face, never. It was time to take up the super sweet offer from Podology and kick start this self care malarky and really get myself ready for Spring.

Now, I wouldn’t say I have the best feet in the world, because feet are just funny little things, but I wouldn’t say I have the worst either. I am on them a lot down at Tea House HQ and keep on top of gerneal foot hygiene (sorry if thats TMI) but a clip, a cut, a  file and polish doesn’t take too much time out of the day does it? But nothing feels better than to be pampered once in a while.

Laura Dicken set up Podology 8 years ago and has grown this beautiful business up from the ground up. It is refreshing to see the passion of a fellow local gal booming in business. And in my home town too!!

Laura prepped my feet before the lovely Faye took the reins and exfoliated my trotters with the sweetest smelling Frangipani Monoi Salt Glow then treated them with a relaxing massage with the Frangipani Monoi Treatment Oil. This stuff smells unreal! It made us talk about Almonds and Marzipan for a good half an hour and it really got our mouths watering.

Then came along the hard part. What colour did I want upon my toe nails? I am usually a coral, orange or red type girl but I felt a plumy, springy purple was a must. I opted for Brave Berry by Doctors Remedy. This Vegan friendly varnish is completely natural with zero chemicals and super hydrating on the old toes. It contains tea tree oil that strengthens the nail too so an absolute bonus. Am I now a beauty blogger? I think I darned blooming am.

Then it was down to the Spa Pod to really get treated with a Elemis Biotec Sensitive Skin Soother.

I have been suffering the past year with a slight bit of redness to my skin so this was what we decided I would benefit me more.

When asked what my skin type is I would usually have said normal but once Ali my beautician got a feel for it I was told my skin as extremely sensitive. This I found interesting because my skin is not what it used to be or the correct type I thought it was. This means my moisturiser won’t be working as effectively so it was good to find out what this 30 year old skin has in store for me. This is the sole reason why I feel you should get yo asses booked in for some face technology to this Biotec level and learn what your skin really needs.

I have never tried anything like this before so was a little dubious to having some electricity zapped into my mug but it was absolutely pain free, refreshing and extremely relaxing. The training that this team have is unbelievable and they truly love what they are doing.

Ali was a total dream (we knew of each other from college) and we didn’t have a silent moment between us. Catching up on the past decade and having a good old gossip was the end to a perfect morning.

I was cleansed and exfoliated, moisturised and boosted and finally norishsed and smoothed with the following products.

Cleanser – Soothing Chamomile

Toner – Rehydrating Ginseng Toner & Soothing Apricot Toner.

Moisturiser – Daily Redness Solution

Advanced Skincare – Pro-Radiance  Illuminating Eye Balm

Anti- Ageing (Yup, I am now a firm participant in this age group now!) – Pro-Collagen Hydra-Gel Eye Mask

After a delightful hour of this type of self care I was so ready to zone out and nestle down for the day but as I was in my lovey little home town of Saltburn I decided to have a visit to all the independents and have a cheeky charity shop snoop.

I could not recommend this type of treatment enough. I need to keep up the self care and really treat my skin to an injection of love now and again. If you want to follow and go treat yourself you can find Podology at 37 Milton Street, Saltburn-by-the-Sea, TS12 1DN.

Thanks to all you lovely ladies for treating me. I will most certainly be back soon!

Love Carli x

I love this. I also went for a treatment not long ago (you don’t realise how much you actually neglect your tootsies do you?!) I’ve totally gotten into the self care mindset lately and I can hand on heart tell you that I now visit your lovely little tea shop all on my lonesome with a magazine once a week and sit down for a cuppa and a sweet treat and it’s all down to your lovely tea ladies for never looking at me strange for being on my own and always being so lovely! Your tea house is now my haven and I love it so this is really just a little wobble comment to say thank you 🙂
